A CEREC treatment is complex and consists of several steps. Typically It takes about 60 minutes for a single inlay. Multiple restorations will prolong the treatment accordingly. Since the treatment is interrupted by several pauses due to construction by the dentist and milling the restoration, even longer treatments times are not considered strenuous by the patient.
The intra-oral camera handpiece has a built-in light source, and a miniature video camera with 25 times zoom magnification, so you can make informed treatment decisions with confidence.
Patients say they can more easily understand a treatment recommendation because they get a good look at the problem blown up on the screen in front of them, rather than having to squint at a postage-stamp-size shot held up to the light.
Nitrous oxide/oxygen is a blend of two gases, oxygen and nitrous oxide. We administer nitrous oxide/oxygen through a small breathing mask which we place over the child’s and adults nose, allowing them to relax, but without putting them to sleep. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recognizes this technique as a very safe, effective technique to use for treating children’s dental needs. The gas is mild and easily taken. Then with normal breathing, it is quickly eliminated from the body. It is non-addictive. While inhaling nitrous oxide/oxygen, your child remains fully conscious and keeps all natural reflexes.
New endodontic handpieces allow for mechanical instrumentation using the same basic concepts as hand instrumentation, but with better speed and precision. These endodontic handpieces can driven by separate desktop motors or can hook in with an existing delivery system. They use a variety of cleaning methods, from rotation to reciprocation.
